Week of October 27

Lots of work to clear the winter tubing hill.

It will be worth it, don't you think?!  NOTE: Zip Line will traverse the "canyon" at its highest point.

This sign defines week #3 as the North Loop is installed and material is brought from the North 40 to the lower (current) ballfield.

The North Loop , which is to connect to the new entrance to the existing drive, proves to be a soggy challenge. The area is filled with springs.

A plan is developed to deal with the springs.  A rock base is installed along with drain tile.

Project Manager Tom Klemenhagen checks the culvert location.

With all the tile and culverts in place, sand is placed on top and a geotex fabric is placed on the works.

Now the finished roadbed is ready for scrapers to start hauling material down the road.

The stripping of ballfield topsoil begins.

And on Thursday, the fill from the North 40 comes down in earnest.  The west (lake) end of the ballfield will rise 2 feet.

The ballfield, built upon what was once a swampy bay on the lake, takes a tandem-scraper captive and won't let go!
