An Adventure in Lifelong Learning for Christian Adults
L+: A Lifetime of Learning
Successfully inaugurated in 2006, the L+ Discovery Initiative is an experiential educational program purposefully designed to stimulate active Christian adults intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually. An enjoyable getaway to a beautiful place in the company of some wonderful friends, L+ is an inspiring pathway to an enriched life through learning. Camp Lebanon’s commitment to a Biblical worldview makes L+ unique among educational opportunities for life-long learners. L+ guests eager to grow in the knowledge of the world God has created will be enriched through sessions featuring highly qualified instructors, delicious cuisine, comfortable accommodations, and rich fellowship. Christians of all denominations are encouraged to participate.
I hoped that L+ would include a great learning experience, sweet fellowship, and time spent at a beautiful place of God's creation. L+ was everything and more than I hoped for. The accomodations and fine dining completed the picture of a very worth-while adventure. Looking forward to the next L+!

The L+ Experience
Multiple-day events are centered around subject matter designed to have broad appeal. Courses ranging from history and the arts to religion, politics and environmental studies are supplemented by engaging Seminars geared for the enrichment of daily life. Our expert instructors share stimulating information through in-depth lectures, field trips, and hands-on participation. Lively discussions with faculty and fellow participants will illuminate issues and broaden horizons, all within the context of a biblical, Christian worldview. And by every day’s end, each person will find their walk with Christ refreshed …. through the exchange of ideas about the world He created, the sweet spirit of fellowship, and the satisfaction of a life infused with new challenges.
My wife Susie and I had a great time at this year's conference. We learned a great deal about CS Lewis the man and we both found it intriguing. We've started to reread Lewis's books and with the new background info it's like meeting an old friend.

The L+ Setting
The host site for L+ events is Camp Lebanon, a year-round Christian retreat center that has operated quality programs and facilities for all ages since 1947. An easy drive from major metro areas in MN and surrounding states, Camp Lebanon boasts a quietly beautiful lakeside setting, wonderful food prepared from scratch by the camp chef, comfortable adult-friendly accommodations (most are hotel-style with private baths, linens and daily housekeeping), and a wide variety of outdoor and indoor recreational options. Unlike tourist travel, the L+ program is all-inclusive. In addition to accommodations, all meals, lectures, field trips, recreation, gratuities and excess medical insurance coverage are included in the price. Participants are required to provide their own transportation to the program site, but once there, all costs are covered. There are no hidden costs. Unraveling Middle East Conflict: Then, Now, & Not-Yet (5 sessions)
For millennia, the Middle East has been a hotbed of political and religious strife, understood only vaguely by most Westerners. Examine the historical progression of two ancient cultures at odds – Judaism and Islam – and understand the origins of the hatred and strife in this region today. Unlock the “mystery” of the current and future events of this area through the lens of Biblical prophecy – an eye-opening survey of future Middle East conflict that will enlighten!

Creation Wonders: Drips, Drops, & Life-giving Storms (2 sessions)Plunge into a fascinating and refreshing journey to the wet side of God’s created world. Explore the miraculous properties of water and wonders of the hydrologic cycle. Follow the journey of a water molecule from your kitchen sink to a Florida hurricane. Hold on tight to your drinking glass – these sessions will be hands-on!

Accommodations
Comfortable, tastefully appointed adult-friendly accommodations. Hotel rooms (Lodge/Birch Point) sleep two with a private baths. Dorms sleep up to four with a shared bath just down the hall. Linens and towels are provided.
