CEDAR LAKE

Camp Lebanon is located on fish-filled, spring-fed Cedar Lake, a 253 acre lake located in southwest Morrison County. With its clear water and considerable depth (88' max., 39' mean), Cedar is classified within Lake Class 23. Northern pike, largemouth bass, walleye, and crappie are the primary management species. The lake currently supports a quality northern pike population characterized by good growth and a desirable size structure. The lake's deep, cool waters provide a refuge for large pike and help to sustain a substantial population of small, slow growing northern cisco. Cedar Lake also supports an exceptional largemouth bass population. Bass growth rates are somewhat slow and recruitment is high. Walleyes have shown excellent growth since fry and fingerling stocking began in 2001. Black crappies appear to be making a comeback after measures were taken to close "Turtle Bay" ("The Kettle" or "Dutch Pot") to all boat activity in April and May. Sunfish remain abundant though somewhat stunted. Anglers may also be surprised with an occasional rock bass, bowfin (dogfish), yellow perch, shiner, white sucker, or yellow bullhead.
Access
Camp Lebanon opens its lake access to guests with boats. Boats may also access Cedar Lake on the DNR Public Access in the southeast corner of the lake. Cedar Lake Memorial Campground also has a boat landing.
